BEHIND THE SCENES; LIFE OF A REALTOR, SALES MEETING

Have you ever wondered what real estates do all day? Well we don’t just watch Netflix and put a sign in front of a house and get it to sell so we can collect a paycheck. We actually train, take classes and learn every day! We work on perfecting our craft, our negotiating skills, learning about the market, the law and contract changes, and just best practices.

In honor of National Homeownership Month, I wanted to give you a glimpse into a day in the life of a realtor... We actual go sales meetings every Tuesday, at least at Harry Norman Realtors we do. This is a great time for us to network with other agents (they might have a buyer for our new listing, or a match for our buyer!) We discuss what’s going on in our markets, share best practices, share things that didn’t work, and mastermind with each other. We get to stay current and relevant so all of our knowledge is first hand and up to date. What worked 10, even 5 years ago, doesn’t necessarily work in today’s market place. In fact, I make it a priority to go tour homes every week, whether that’s in agent caravan after sales meetings, open houses, showing buyers homes, or even taking my sellers out to see what we are competing with, and often just me previewing. This is how I keep up with home values, see what’s selling, what’s not and for how much!
